Summary: The Role of BRICS in Global Governance and International Law


On October 4, FLIA co-organized international seminar titled “The Role of BRICS in Global Governance and International Law” with Instituto de Politica Publica e Relacao Internacional – UNESP, Programa de Graduação “San Tiago Dantas” (UNESP, UNICAMP, PUC-SP), Associação Desenvolvimento Econômico Brasil-China – BCEDA, and Instituto Sóciocultural Brasil-China – IBRACHINA. Dr. Shaoming Zhu gave a presentation on the topic of “Transforming Global Governance through Inclusive Negotiations” and share her research on “Legal Means as Negotiating Power in the 2018 Sino-US Trade War.” FLIA Scholar, Professor Douglas de Castro gave a presentation titled “Essence and Representation in the Economic Relations between Brazil and China.” Professor Ruizhi Zhu, Researcher at Beijing Foreign Studies University, gave a presentation on “Analysis of the Process of Brazil’s Participation in BRICS Cooperation from the Perspective of Practice.” Mr. Lintong Xi, CEO of Shenzhen Lulan Energy-Saving Technology CO., shared his thoughts on “The Application of Commercial Diplomacy in the Relationship between Brazil and China.”
